We welcome all new members to the club and thank you for taking an interest in Archery, it is a great sport, keeps you fit and you meet some good people, to become a member of the club you need to have firstly undertaken a beginners course (if you have already taken this and hold a training certificate then you are eligible to join).

Beginners Course

We run these courses in groups of 6 to 8 arranged when we have enough applicants. should you be interested in attending a course then let me know and when a course date is arranged, I will contact you with further details.

Courses training takes 6 hours and is usually split up over Sunday afternoons or Tuesdays evenings indoors over a winter and outdoors during Summer, and dates are notified to you once the instructor has fitted it in around his shift work, the cost is £50 per adult and £40 per child (under 18) and if you book 2 or more places at the same time, we will apply a 10% discount.  Unfortunately we are unable to undertake any training of children under 10 years old, as we find they struggle too much pulling the bow.

All equipment is provided for you, as well as all tuition and insurance cover.

Becoming a Member

Once you have the training certificate, you can then join a club, hopefully this one. To practice Archery you need to be insured and this is nationally via affiliations to the National Association GB Archery and Area Association GWAS (Great Western Archery Society) and the County Association GAS. If you join us as a club, affiliation to these and your insurance is included in the annual membership fees given below. If you are already a member of another club and hold a GB Archery membership card, you can still shoot with us as an Associate Member or on the odd occasion by turning up at venues and paying a fee.

Our Shooting times

The indoor Winter hours, at Oaklands, Foxes Bridge Rd, Cinderford, Gloucestershire GL14 2PQ, are Tuesday 19:00 to 21:00 and Thursday 19:00 to 21:00
